Day 1:  Oslo - Spitsbergen - Longyearbyen
Accomodation: Spitsbergen Guesthouse

There are morning and evening flights from Oslo to Longyearbyen via Tromso. Transfer to the hotel on your own (airport shuttle available).

Day 2: Longyearbyen - SpitsbergenB/L/D

Transfer to the Husky camp for preparations and packing of equipment. Instructions and briefing on how to drive dogsleds before we start off. At the Husky camp we also receive our tour clothes. The adventure starts off towards the East coast through a snowmobile free area. The route goes through Bolterdalen and Tverrdalen, before the guide commands his lead dog into wide valley Reindalen. Lunch en route during early afternoon. After 50-60 km we set our camp with pyramid tents. We share the work as we prepare the meals both for the dogs and for the people. The tent is heated by stoves. In the evening we have plenty of time to dry our wet clothes and to listen to stories about the life in the Arctic.

Day 3: SpitsbergenB/L/D

We continue the dogsled safari early in the morning. We start off through Kjellströmdalen, before crossing three glaciers to arrive at the bay Inglefieldbukta on the east coast. Here we settle a new camp, and our huskies will be our "polar bear alarm", and will tell us as soon as polar bears are present in the camp area!

Day 4: SpitsbergenB/L/D

Our Arctic adventure brings us further north along the East coast. On sunny days, we have good chances to see ringed seals sunbathing on the sea ice. If we are lucky, we might see polar bears walking around on the pack ice, looking for seals to hunt. Tonight we raise our camp in the Agardh valley.

Days 5 - 6: Spitsbergen - LongyearbyenB/L/D
Accomodation: Spitsbergen Guesthouse

The next two days our husky teams will bring us through two glacier massifs. The mountains rise 1000 m above the sea level and the mountain passes we cross, reach the height of 700 m. Weather and snow conditions permitting, we return to the Husky camp, late Friday afternoon. Dinner at the Husky camp in the evening. Transfer to your accommodation. Due to changes in weather conditions, arrival time at the camp might be on Saturday.

Day 7: LongyearbyenB/L/D
Accomodation: Spitsbergen Guesthouse

Time of your own. We suggest a visit to Svalbard Museum and/or Galleri Svalbard. Please click on city link to explore optional excursions.

Lunch and farewell dinner at Spitsbergen Hotel.

Day 8: Longyearbyen - OsloB

There are early morning and afternoon flights to Oslo. Transfer to the airport on your own.

Day 1:  LongyearbyenD

There is a morning flight available from Oslo or Tromso. Transfer to Spitsbergen Guesthouse. Informational meeting in the afternoon followed by dinner.

Day 2: Longyearbyen - SpitsbergenB/L/D
On Board the M/S Nordstjernen

After breafast there is an optional guided walk to the "Plateau Mountain", 425 meters above sea level. Following lunch, we invite you on a guided tour of Longyearbyen and a visit to the Svalbard Museum. We embark the ship at 5:00 PM and set sail for Barentsburg. After arrival, you will have 2-3 hours to explore. Perhaps a folklore show at the Cultural House? We leave at 11:30 PM and during the night sail out of the icefjord, then along the coast of the Prins Karls Forland passing the Kongsfjord on our way north.

Day 3: SpitsbergenB/L/D

At night/early morning we pass "The seven Icebergs" before reaching Spitsbergens northwest corner. Arrival in the Magdalenefjord in the morning.

Late afternoon we're cruising further north along the north west coast of Spitsbergen.

Day 4: SpitsbergenB/L/D

Depending on the weather and ice conditions we sail to the Woodfjord area. In the Liefdefjord we can see the astonishing front of the Monaco glacier. Landings by zodiacs in the afternoon.When having good ice-conditions we cross the 800 parallel and sail up to the Moffen Island.Cruising southwards at night.

Day 5: Ny Alesund - SpitsbergenB/L/D

We plan to arrive in Ny Alesund in the morning and take a guided walk around town. Here you will be introduced to the history of coal mining and exploration in this are. There will be time to explore on your own, visit the museum and do some souvenir shopping. We re-board and cross the Kongsfjord to Blomstrand where we disembark for our camp. We will spend some time reviewing our kayak safety measure and take a kayak trip to the glacier front, looking for wildlife, icebergs and quiet beauty.

Days 6 - 7: SpitsbergenB/L/D

Over the next two days we will explore the Blomstrand island. We will prepare for an overnight trip to the glacier named 14 Julibreen in Krossfjorden.
Day 8: SpitsbergenB/L/D
On Board the M/S Nordstjernen

We return to camp this afternoon to re-board our ship. At night we continue southward along the coast of Prins Karls Forland, returning to the Icefjord.
Day 9: Spitsbergen - LongyearbyenB

We arrive in Longyearbyen in the morning. Transfer provided to airport for afternoon flight to Oslo or Tromso.

Day 1:  Longyearbyen - SpitsbergenD
Accomodation: Spitsbergen Guesthouse

Arrival at Longyearbyen Airport. Transfer to Spitsbergen Guesthouse for overnight. On arrival we will spend some time getting to know each other and Longyearbyen. Information meeting at 5.30pm.

Dinner at Spitsbergen Hotel.

Day 2: Longyearbyen - Barentsburg - KongsfjordB/L/D
On Board the M/S Nordstjernen

After breakfast there is an optional guided walk to Platåfjellet (425 meters above sea level). The hiking trip requires good physical condition. The route up to the mountain is somewhat steep and is relativel stony. After lunch, there is a guided walk of Longyearben and the Svalbard Museum. We board the boat at 5:30 pm and then sail to Adventfjord and set course for the Russian mining town of Barentsburg. We reach Barentsburg at 9:00 pm. In Barentsburg, there will be a sightseeing tour by bus, a folklore show at the Cultural House and some time for souvenir shopping. We set sail at 11:30 pm. During the night we sail out of the Icefjord, then along the coast of the Prins Karls Forland passing the Kongsfjord heading north.

Day 3: SpitsbergenB/L/D
On Board the M/S Nordstjernen

We arrive in Magdalenefjord in the morning, landing with tender boats. In the afternoon we sail on north along the northwest-coast of Spitsbergen, and arrive in Raudfjorden during the evening.

Days 4 - 6: SpitsbergenB/L/D

Camping and hiking in the Raudfjord region, our northernmost trekking camp in the world in a beautiful scenic landscape with many possiblities for trekking tours.

Day 7: SpitsbergenB/L/D
On Board the M/S Nordstjernen

The MS Nordstjernen returns in the evening, and we join her for transport to our next camp in Blomstrand. We sail south passing the Smeerenburgfjord and "The Seven Icebergs".

Day 8: Ny Alesund - SpitsbergenB/L/D
On Board the M/S Nordstjernen

We then sail south to Kongsfjord, where we visit the research community Ny-Ålesund. Here we will have a guided walk in town with information on coalmining and exploration. This is where the zeppelin mast belonging to Amundsen and Nobile still stands. From Ny-Ålesund it is just a short voyage to the Blomstrand campin the Kongsfjord, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view toward the jagged Blomstrand glacier. We spend the next 3 days exploring this glacier area which offers many opportunities for exciting tours, even for those of you who have no previous glacier-crossing experience. We will also take walks on mountains and along the coast, before traveling on towards Longyearbyen with the M/S Nordstjernen.

Days 9 - 11: SpitsbergenB/L/D

Day 12: SpitsbergenB/L/D

We rejoin the ship at 12:30 pm for our trip back to Longyearbyen via the Prins Karl Forland and the Icefjord.

Day 13: Longyearbyen

We arrive in Longyearbyen at 2:00 am. Disembarkation anytime before 8:00 am and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
